Who and What is the Happy Warrior

The Happy Warrior is the title of a poem... and yes, I love this poem. I do not wish to be mischaracterized, for the most part poetry is not my bag. I am not an afficionado of literature nor am I a metro-sexual (I despise that term) but a dear friend introduced me to this masterpiece of prose several years ago... it has provided no end of inspiration. The Happy Warrior by William Wordsworth outlines the qualities of a magnificent soul. I aspire to possess even one or two characteristics that "every man in arms should wish to be."

This blog is a representation, in conversational form, of my voyage to wrap my arms around the world in which Mr. Worsdworth's warrior finds happiness.

(Standing disclaimer: Luckily tests of spelling accuracy ended in 4th grade otherwise I would still be in Elementary School. Be forewarned, spelling errors ahead. I subscribe to the wisdom of a great man who said, "I have utmost disdain for a man who can only spell a word one way." -Benjamin Franklin)

Wacky Wednesday

In an effort to lighten things up, I plan to have a weekly installment self described as "Wacky Wednesday". It will be an attempt to step into the bizzare, the ridiculous and the levity in life. Here is my first issue:

Wacky Wednesday, Vol. 1
If a picture is worth a thousand words then this video is priceless. If it did not so perfectly symbolize the moral confusion of our "enlightened" era it would be funny. Well, OK, it is tragic and funny at the same time. We truely are a society has gone where no man has gone before... without even leaving our back yard.

  1. Did she just say, "That rock...that has the most incredible life?!" She did, didn't she??? Yes, I think she is right. Some people are very, very, lost.

When you come to bed tonight, I hope you will join me in a tree mourning ritual. It will be cleansing for the soul.

  2. Wow! Don't read the blog on 'Here's a change:' and then watch this video; it will make you wish these crazies felt the same way Mr. Wicke feels about language. What a utter waste of our language.

And these are the people Obama wants to protect and sustain by taxing the middle class!? Uhh...righhhht!
